Founded as Pangea Environmental Services, Inc. in 2004, we began operating under new ownership starting in 2026. We are a small boutique business with large firm capabilities, thanks to our partnerships with experts across the industry. We specialize in serving clients in the Bay Area and Northern California. Our office is located in a beautiful historic building (above) in Berkeley, California. The park setting and modern office renovation is a relaxing and inspirational work space for our employees…and their children and furry pet companions. In a tribute to the current and former building artists, our office includes a mural with geological imagery from local artist Nathan Richard Phelps and a large moss globe in the shape of the Pangea supercontinent to remind us of our legacy.

Our Key Leaders
Tim Naughton
President and Principal Engineer
Tim Naughton has provided environmental consulting services in California for over 20 years. He joined Pangea in 2021 as a principal engineer managing all industry sectors and services the company offers, including environmental site assessment, remediation, vapor mitigation, and environmental litigation support. Tim previously worked at URS Corporation/AECOM, Roux Associates, and Endpoint Consulting before taking over as owner and president of Broad Spectrum. When Tim is not traveling to visit new places in the U.S. and abroad, you may catch him playing the drums in his rock band at various venues in Northern California.
Ron Scheele
Principal Geologist, Professional Geologist
Ron Scheele has over 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. Ron manages work within all industry sectors and services offered by Pangea, including oversight of O&M coordination for our remediation and mitigation systems. Ron has worked closely with Principal Bob Clark-Riddell for over 12 years with both Pangea and Cambria. Ron previously worked at Cambria Environmental Technologies, Conestoga Rovers Associates, GHD Engineering, and Alton Geoscience. Ron was an avid rock climber and appreciates igneous and metamorphic formations, as well as his Old English Sheepdog.
Morgan Gillies
Senior Project Manager
Morgan Gillies became Pangea’s first employee over 20 years ago, and has 25 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry in Northern California. Morgan specializes in managing and performing site assessment and remediation services. Morgan worked previously at Blaine Tech Services as a senior manager of field services, specializing in groundwater sampling. You can find Morgan basking in his remodeled backyard with the dogs, kids, and a glass of wine.
